Hope In The Garden
$8,500.00
Hope In The Garden is a bronze sculpture inspired by the Greek myth of Pandora, a tale of humanity’s trials and the enduring power of hope.
In ancient mythology, the world was once free of toil and sorrow, an earthly paradise of endless beauty where rivers flowed with milk and honey, and flowers carpeted the land. This peaceful world was inhabited solely by men, created by Prometheus, who shaped them from clay in the image of the gods. But Zeus, the king of the gods, grew wrathful when Prometheus defied him, most notably by stealing fire from heaven to give humankind.
To exact his revenge, Zeus devised a cunning plan. He commanded Hephaestus, the god of the forge, to fashion Pandora, the first woman, endowed by the gods with beauty, charm, cleverness, and an irrepressible curiosity. Her name, “Pandora,” means “all gifted” or “a gift to all.”
Before sending Pandora to earth, Zeus gave her a beautiful box and a warning: “This is my gift to you, but you must never open it.” Yet, as Zeus had intended, Pandora’s curiosity overwhelmed her. When she opened the box, she unwittingly unleashed countless woes upon the world—sorrow, disease, greed, violence, madness, and death. Paradise was lost.
But within the box lay an unexpected gift from Prometheus: Hope. Though troubles were released into the world, Hope remained, a light for humanity to endure and rise above adversity.
I believe that hope is one of the greatest virtues, a force that sustains us through life’s challenges. In my sculpture, Pandora cradles an ornate box in her left hand, symbolizing the weight of her choice. From the open box in her right hand, she releases a bird, a symbol of hope, spreading its wings and soaring into the world.
This limited-edition bronze represents the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring presence of hope, even in the face of hardship.

Amazing Grace
Eternal Flight
“Eternal Flight” BY ARTIST LORI BETZ
Eternal Flight Medium: Bronze Commissioned by: Houston Ballet Eternal Flight captures a moment of profound intimacy and grace, portraying two ballet soloists in a mirrored swan pose. Sculpted in bronze, the dancers’ forms are frozen in motion—elegant, poised, and entwined in a delicate balance of strength and vulnerability. The sculpture explores the theme of love—not just as romance, but as connection, trust, and the unspoken dialogue between two souls in harmony. The swan pose, known for its fluidity and emotional depth, becomes a symbol of that shared flight: two individuals soaring together, yet never losing themselves in the other. With the timeless strength of bronze and the ephemeral beauty of dance, Eternal Flight pays tribute to the Houston Ballet’s legacy of artistry and passion, and to love in all its quiet, powerful forms. Sculpture of Peter Franc and Nao Kusuzaki of the Houston Ballet. The Choreography was created with the help of Stanton Walsh, Artistic Director of the Houston Ballet. Mr Walsh was kind enough to direct the dancers in various poses and dance moves in the search to find the right balance between classical ballet and the emotional aspects of telling a story through movement. This is something that Stanton Walsh does very well and I believe that I captured it in this pose, and with these two amazing dancers.
